A gem of a wedding venue in Surrey, Oatlands Park Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for both events. For the larger wedding, I was on hand to capture the bridal prep in the morning with the girls. As a wedding photographer, this is always one of my favourite parts of the day to be a part of. Rebecca and her bridal party were so much fun and it was such a relaxed time – I just love the snaps in the bathtubs with their bubbles!
Martin arrived at the venue in his family friend’s Aston Martin – the ultimate way to make an entrance! The ceremony took place in the Mulberry Suite, which boasts large windows that let the natural light flood in (a photographer’s DREAM), neutral décor, high ceilings and antique-esque paintings. The couple chose Chiavari chairs decorated with drapes and pearl claps to hold them together, embracing the elegance of the space on offer, styled by the Chair Dressing Company. The wedding day itself was filled with dainty details that although small, meant the world to the newlyweds.
Group shots were held outside, before I stole Martin and Rebecca away from the celebrations for the couple shots. We were lucky enough to enjoy the British sunshine, with a soft sunlight that spoilt us for the entire day. Oatlands Park Hotel in Weybridge is home to a huge variety of backdrops, including a lake, stone ornaments, trees with hanging branches and a terrace that felt like it was just made for those golden hour shots.
Friends and family then feasted on a delicious wedding breakfast, followed by speeches and champagne. They spoilt their guests with the most delicious dessert table a wedding cake, boxes of popcorn, a Ferrero Rocher tower and cupcakes! After the first dance, the party really started when ‘New York, New York’ came on!
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing an insight into Rebecca and Martin’s wedding day(s) – it was an honour to document the occasions for the couple to relive over and over. Don’t forget to head over to my Instagram to follow my behind-the-scenes snippets and to see more love stories in action!
